Two shining students from the Faculty of IT (PICS), Mr. Farhan Farrukh and Mr. Zohaib Iqbal represented University of Central Punjab at the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) - Week 2007 and won the Multimedia Competition. The IEEE-Week 2007 was jointly organized by IEEE-NUCES and IEEE-LUMS and was hosted at FAST-NU from October 22-26, 2007.
The winning project named "Virtual PICS" was a 3-D simulation of the UCP campus, which allowed users to take a 3-D tour of the University campus. The winning team also discussed possible future enhancements to their application towards the end of their presentation.
Mr. Farhan Farrukh and Mr. Zohaib Iqbal have decided to gift this project to UCP for its inclusion in the UCP website. Another team of IT students stood 4th in the Onspot Programming Competition. This team was comprised of Mr. Asif Mujtuba and Mr. Aafaq Zahid.
